From babies to young adults of 23 years of age, ChildVision opens up all the doors to the world of learning for blind, visually impaired and multi-disabled young people all over Ireland.

0-6 Years Early Years

We offer Early Years programmes in both our Dublin and Cork centres. Our early intervention class is followed by our Preschool, with full nursing care to hand. Whether a child is peg fed or needs regular meds we can offer them a chance to go to school, make friends, and celebrate achievements. Attendance may be once a week or more frequent when children work with therapists, swim, visit Pets Corner, have mobility lessons, go horse riding, enjoy music therapy or simply play!

6-17 Years School Supports

Some children stay in our Early Years until they are six, others move earlier to mainstream schools or to the on-campus primary school, St. Joseph’s School for Children with a Visual Impairment. Children attending here all have a visual impairment; some have additional disabilities. A bus service to pick up and drop off those living in the Greater Dublin area is available. Second level education provision is available at schools nearby at Pobal Scoil Rosmini or other schools close to our campus. Other children from mainstream primary schools attend as a residential student for the duration of second level, or just for their Leaving Cert. Provision is made for those students with a vision impairment and additional disabilities. All receive Speech and Language Therapy, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Equine Therapy and Nursing care as needed.

18+ Years Pathways

For students aged 18+, who have a visual impairment and additional cognitive impairments, we offer a 5 year programme of Pathways. It focuses on independent living and developing skills through workplace training, social enterprises, education & training and ‘real life experiences’.

18+ Pathways – Enterprises

Pathways  participants aged 18+ take part in a range of work integrated social enterprises as part of their programme. These include confidential shredding, horticulture, weaving and soap making. Follow our soap making social enterprise on Instagram here.
